Nourish Yourself, Nourish Your Community

In a season that often demands we pour all our energy outward, how do we refill our own cup? We often forget that community care and self-care are deeply connected; we cannot sustainably care for others without first nurturing ourselves.

This workshop is an invitation to do just that. We'll begin with an all-levels practice to move, breathe, and release what no longer serves us, ending with a guided relaxation to restore your inner balance.

The practice is only the beginning. We will then transition into a space of community care, sharing food and chai in a potluck format. This is a time to connect, share stories, and hold space for whatever arises—recognizing that in tending to ourselves, we build the resilience to tend to each other.

Tuition: $0-30 by donation

Optional Items to Bring: Yoga mat, props, food to share

Ability level: All

James Orione has been practicing yoga for 13+ years, having a foundation in Yoga Nidra, Yin and Restorative styles, which progressed to incorporate asana combined with vinyasa, pranayama, meditation and mantra. He completed his 200 hr E-RYT yoga teacher training at the Himalayan Institute in Honesdale, PA.

James aims to create a safe space to explore yoga with open and accessible classes for students who are diverse in gender, race, religion, age, and ability. As an African American male he feels it is important to create access and opportunities for BIPOC (Black Indigenous, People of Color) to explore yoga. Yoga has the ability to loosen the hold of trauma, in any form, that prevents us from living our lives to its fullest.

RSVP to Attend

What to Expect: James teaches in the Himalayan tradition, rooted in dynamic and flowing sequences of asanas, a strong emphasis on diaphragmatic breathing, pranayama and systematic relaxation. Over the course of his classes students will cultivate a deeper connection with the breath and the body.
