Handcraft Sampler
Sat, May 23 and Sun, May 24, 9 AM - 5 PM (1 Hour Lunch)
Spend a weekend exploring traditional craft and modern interpretations with CPC founder Anna Lindall. We’ll move between a range of tactile practices—green wood carving, wet felting, rope and cordage-making, sewing, and textile block printing—to create functional and playful objects such as bags, bowls or baskets, and kitchen utensils. Together, we’ll build a supportive community where trying something new is encouraged and sharing knowledge is part of the process.
Tuition: $260 per participant
Materials Fee: $30 to be paid to instructor
Age / Ability Level: 18+, All Levels

Traditional handcrafts emerged from everyday needs—spoons for eating, baskets for gathering, tools for building. While most of what we need today can be purchased, the human urge to make remains strong. This class invites you to follow that impulse. The focus will be on experimentation, creativity, and learning from one another. You’ll leave with a collection of small projects, new skills to build on, and the feeling of calm and satisfaction that comes from working with your hands and natural materials.

CENTER FOR PEOPLE AND CRAFT is committed to building a diverse, inclusive learning community where people of all backgrounds feel welcome and able to participate. As we launch our first workshop series, we are dedicating space in each class for reduced-tuition scholarships to support anyone facing financial barriers. As we build a more robust scholarship program, we hope this initial launch will remove barriers and expand access to hands-on learning for all.
Anyone with financial need is encouraged to apply for a half-tuition scholarship. To be considered, please submit a brief online application. Please note that CENTER FOR PEOPLE AND CRAFT is operating with limited financial resources and an entirely volunteer staff. Therefore, we cannot guarantee a spot for every applicant. Each class has one scholarship slot available. Applicants who are not selected in this current round are welcome to reapply. Apply here
